The Harrison Funeral Home was established in 1905 in Grass Creek, (Fulton Co.),
Indiana by Thomas L. Harrison. The business was later moved to a two story
residence in Kewanna, Indiana located on East Main St.
In 1936 the Harrisons moved to our current location at Main and Toner Streets.
In 1933 Paul M. Harrison joined his father in the business and they opened the
funeral home in Royal Center, (Cass County), Indiana.
In 1940 the Harrisons purchased the former residence of Dr. Frank M. Kistler at
304 S. Chicago Street and moved the funeral home to our current location.
In 1967 Max M .Metzger who had been a licensed funeral director with the firm
since 1960 and John B. Hinshaw purchased the two locations and the businesses
were later named Harrison-Metzger Funeral Homes.
Mr. Paul M. Harrison died May 10, 1978 and his wife Effie died August 1, 1994.
On January 1, 2007 Kyle L. Rans and his wife Stacy purchased the funeral homes
from Mr. Metzger and Mr. Hinshaw.
Our pledge is to continue the highest standard of service that the families of
Harrison-Metzger funeral homes have been used to for over 100 years.
We will also continue to tailor our services to accomodate the needs of each and
every family whether its a traditional funeral service or an immediate
cremation. Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes is still offering a
full assortment of cemetery monuments, memorials, and markers.
